When I turn on my headlights they come up as they are supposed to, however when I trun them off, the drivers side flaps up and down violently 3-4 times and sometimes doesn't close all the way? I replaced the gear and theres no change? Also, when I turn on the flood lights the headlights come up, then the same rough flapping, is there some kind of control module that I'm not aware of? This is my third C5 and I've never seen anything like this? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

Thanks for the response fellas, I made the mistake of replacing the worn gear with another plastic gear as I had a new spare from my previously owned C5. I went ahead though and ordered a brass gear and new seal, might as well replace it with the an upgraded part while I'm in there, thanks again.
Can i get these rubber insulators/stops thru Corvette Mods or do i have to get them thru GM?

This is what just started on my 03 C5Z. Not all the time just sometimes. Very Annoying close headlights and driver side sometimes pops up again and passenger side stays down. So you think this might just be the insulators/Stops?

Think they are discontinued from GM last I heard. Its possible check on the motor housing that the arm hits on. See if that's chewed up you will have to take the black housing off to see it/reach it. Also the 2 that are next to the adjustment **** on the motor check those. Best way to check is flip them around. If you need pics let me know I can get some by tomorrow

I am having the same issue with my left headlamp partially opeing after I turn off the car. I have installed the washers as suggested but cannot find the insulators anywhere since they have been discontinued. Any suggestions on who may have these. I have tried Mid America Motorworks, Eklers, GMpartscenter and gmpartshouse with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Did you flip your old ones around? There is a vendor that makes them I'm posting from my phone so Ill have to search and post up the link later
No I did not realize that was an option as I only added the washers so I didn't take it all apart. I was hoping the washers would do the trick but it obviously didn't. Thanks for your input and hopefully you can locate a source for the insulators. Even if I can reverse the clips, it sounds like this is a reoccurring issue.
