Well I assume everyone has seen my new CCW wheel/tire setup so its time to get back working on the motor. If you check my signature out you will see my next project is LS6 heads with a custom port and polish by yours truly. :yesnod: I am just going to do a basic port/clean up of the runners, combustion chamber, and bowls. Stainless Steel 2.02/1.57 will be the valves of choice. I'll am going to upgrade to an LS6 intake as well. Here are some cam choices....They come from Thunderracing .com
I recently installed a T1 cam from MTI (221/221 .558/.558 112) and if I was to do it again I would seriously consider the 230/224 reverse split. I might change my cam again later after I get ported heads.
I think the 224/224 112 would give the best power increase but you will have to get the PCM tuned for a smooth idle and proper air/fuels. Also, I have my doubts this cam would ever pass emission testing.
I have the 224/224 cam in mine and I passed emissions. I still have idle issues with the air on(6spd). I'm planning on getting a z06 intake to hopefully lean it out some because it is running real rich. I have vortex, tpis headers with cats and magnaflow xpipe through corsa touring and a Hpp3 for the rev limiter and I put down 350 rwhp. I think there is a lot more potential there I just need to lean it out some. Exit28 do you have any z06 intakes in stock?
I can't say enough about my ARE cam from Lunati(226/226/554) It idles lopey and there is NO surging and NO stalling and the power is there when I want it.I have an a$ so I choe the 114 LSA but I'm sure there is a 112 LSA available. Talk with the pros like Nick Agostino at ARE..He will lead you in the right diection:D You will need a PCM program..I chose Ed Wright at www.fastchip.com..Done once ..done right!!
