C5 Driver side temp control **** doesn't adjust temp
My 99 c5 dual climate driver side control **** does not change temp on display. It is stuck on 73. The driver side just spins around and does not change from 73. Everything else works fine. Display bright. Passenger side does ajust temp slightly as it is suppose to,but the driver side stays HOT. It is ok to live with now, but when it gets to 80,90 etc outside it will be to hot inside the cabin to be comfortable.
I have read many threads, but I do not see any fix except to replace entire control module.
Are there any new thoughts on this issue out there ???
Its possible there's a bad or cold solder joint on the poteniometer but truly I'm not sure. I suggest a PM to forum member Tstar as he's the resident expert on these.
OP, did you ever get an answer on this? I just bought a C5Z06, and my driver's side temperature adjustment **** is intermittent.
Most of the time it works, but some of the time, it only adjusts the temperature "upwards". After restarting the car a few times, it then works properly.
Sounds like the pot is going bad to me, but is this a common failure of these units? Could spraying some contact cleaner in there work?
Reviving this thread in the hopes that a solution was found for this particular issue. As our cars age this has bound to become increasingly common.
Just in case... you are aware that the display is for outside temperature readings only? Adjusting the pot should temporarily show your preferred inside temp, then return to outside temp.
