Default 1997 c5 grinding second gear

I changed the transmission fluid, and the clutch fluid and let me tell you my vette shifts like I just brought it home from the dealership. However despite the smooth and quiet(relatively) shifting, the car grinds going into second under WOT. It won't grind just under moderate acceleration, but if I put the pedal to the floor (or fairly close to it) about 90% of the time second gear will grind. The grinding noise is brief (about half of a second) and then it is in gear. Also, second gear does not stick it actually goes right in smoothly. It doesn't grind going INTO gear, it grinds right before the clutch is almost totally released. The sound (i could be wrong though) seems to be coming from under the shift ****. It sounds like I ran over a duck, it's just a quick QUACK then it's in gear. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Does it ONLY happen on 2nd gear? If I had to guess, I would say it's the worn 2nd gear blockers or cracked outer steel ring. Unfortunately the transmission has to be gone through. Good luck.

It happens very rarely in fourth gear aswell but to my knowledge it hasn't happened in first third fifth or reverse.

How many miles do you have on the transmission? The 97 to 2000 T56's have paper as friction material on the blockers.

You will have to pull the transmission and have it gone through.

Thanks, is this something you do or is fixed with an upgrade? I actually live within a very driveable distance to you, if not do you know anyone who knows what they're doing on a t56 in the western MD area?
