Default Alternator bracket removal/replacement

Can anyone give instructions on how to remove/replace the alternator bracket on the C5's? Are there any special tools required and are there any other parts, other than the alternator itself, that needs to be removed in order to get the bracket off?

The power steering pressure and return lines will have to be removed as the ps pump is bolted to the bracket and will have to removed with it.

Was thinking of replacing it with a chrome or polished one. Sounds like I'm going to get power steering fluid on everything to do the swap. So there is not enough slack in the lines to do it without disconnecting the lines from the power steering pump?

The ps pressure line is a ridgid line - there is no slack at all.

If the bracket is out you may be able to get the pump off the bracket, otherwise you need the PS pulley tool or the pulley will break. I seem to remember you might be able to sneak it off with an open end wrench once the bracket and pump are out of the car. Look through the driver's side wheel well, the hose connections are right there.
