hey guys would a set of 2007 z06 shocks be better than the z51 shocks that came on my 1999 c5 frc, looking to upgrade and found these for a good price thanks for any replys geo.
we sell the 2012 c6 z06 shocks for $254.60. Many c5 customers ask us why we don’t recommend the 2004 shocks over the 2012. Many people also say that the c6 shocks are only developed for the c6. If you look at all of the basic suspension components between the c5 and c6, they are very much the same. The reason we don’t recommend the 2004 z06 shocks over the 2012 c6 z06 shocks is simply because of the price and customer feedback. We have many customers who have tried both sets of shocks and cannot tell the difference between the two, so why not purchase the lesser expensive set!
For the c5, not c5 z06, we also recommend the c6 z51 sway bar kit. The c6 z51 sway bar kit coupled with the 2012 c6 z06 shocks is our most popular suspension and handling upgrade for the c5.
To order, please call 484-949-2099 or go to www.gmpartshouse.com/search.php and use part number c6z06shocks and be sure to select chevrolet make.
Thanks. Gene.

I have wondered the same thing for my 99 FRC also. I was considering the shocks and also the C6 Z51 sway bars. GM parts house has good pricing on both.
I thought they might be a good upgrade also.
I also wondered if you would feel any difference between the stock plastic sway bar end links and the metal ones if the plastic ones are still in good shape?

On my 2000 FRC, w/ 40,000 miles, upgraded to C6Z06 shocks, C6Z51 sways and metal endlinks--a great improvement over stock--if you want to go all the way add the C6Z51 brakes to the package and you'll love it

Thanks for the comparison. That is the type of information I was looking for. I think it would be a nice improvement too. Maybe even more for me since I think the 99 FRC has smaller sway bars than your 2000 FRC.
I am not sure I am going to do the brake upgrade yet. I was also looking at some of the packages for drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic brakes like I saw on the forum from Brakermotive. I have not decided what direction to go yet.
