Default Do "quiet" headers exist?

I have a 2002 Z06 with a CAI and Borla exhaust making 350 rwhp. Would like to get up to 400, but without significantly increasing low rpm decibles (would like to stay on good terms with the neighbors). Any header recommendations that wouldn't drastically increase volume?

Stock are really Very good

your not going to get 50 HP increase with any exhausts system / bolt on. that 50 HP increase will be from a cam, CAI and a great tune

Borla's are the issue. The Z06 titanium system is quiet at slow speeds but screams up top.

Go with long tube headers , high flo cats. and an x pipe through the stock ti z06 exhuast . with your cai and a tune you will see approx. 380-390 rwhp and approx. 375-380 torque range.
exaust will be quite untill you lay into it then it screams, best exhuast combo for the z06 IMO

The headers only add a marginal amount of sound, it basically comes down to your cats and your mufflers. Use a stock Z06 catback or some other quiet aftermarket system, and use high-flow cats. I have a big cam in my car with headers and everything, and with the stock Z06 catback I doubt 90% of people could tell the difference over a stock car.

That's what I did. When I bought my car it had a nice Corsa catback. I traded it for a Ti Z06 and cash, then used the cash to get cutouts. With the cutouts closed it's really not that loud.

I have a nice set I pulled recently from my '01 z06, I haven't listed them yet because I was debating on keeping them. They were too quiet for my tastes and I didn't have the cash for a complete exhaust overhaul so I just found some used Borla Stingers and swapped them out!

In any case, feel free to shoot me an offer via pm if interested!

you should probably consider upgrading your diff. No increase in noise but feels alot faster. You may loose a small bit of mpg but i think the trade off for speed is always worth it.

This person is deaf or exaggerating. There is definitely a difference.

Yes there is, I have lg pros without cats and I have gotten several people ask me what I have done to my car. It is very subtle at idle and light throttle but you can really tell once you start to get down on it.

The only way that setup could sound like it did before the LTs is if it had a very noisy cat-back on it before replacing it with the Z06 TI's.

I agree with others. I had Corsa and swapped them out for the stock Ti's, the sound is great. Used nice sets go for $400

Heck I had slp loudmouths on mine and it without a doubt changed the sound, startup was much more aggressive and until it got warmed up you couldnt talk while standing behind the car. However while cruising around it was quieter inside the car.
