Try the Advanced Search function above and you'll then have a clue. MANY, MANY posts
The question was TIRE OVERALL DIAMETER. You answered rim size. Not the answer to the question that was asked.....
Even worse, on a Dyno ONLY the rear tires are turning. Doesn't even give AH/TC a chance to come into play.
I have the 1.2 differance you are talking about the car just rolled 45,00" miles dealership told me today I should have the brake module at $950.00 plus labor it did have I believe 502 code
Then we would have something to work with rather than guessing.
Man that's all the info Classic Cheverlet gave me here in Texas now that u have given me some info about codes I will stop there tomm
And get the codes you are talking about
They claimed they put it on a Dyno the rear tires were 2 1/2 miles faster than the front... At that point I knew they had No Clue
I'm a first time corvette owner, a year in fact had mustangs before that
If u don't mind I'll get back with u tomm
Thanks
first, you don't need a stealership to pull the codes. Read this: http://www.c5help.com/c5_dtc_codes.htm
Once you've pulled the codes, POST THEM HERE. Include the H or C suffix as well.
Plenty of forum knowledge here: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...l-in-here.html
We're willing to help, but you've got to do your part as well.
Oh, and welcome to the forum!
I had problem with my traction control caused by tyre size ,but it wasn't throwing any codes. Because of the tyre size difference the traction control cut power due to the the speed difference between front and rears. This problem tended to happen every time at a specific speed which 65 Mph. While I was tearing my hair out trying to find the problem I got hooked up to a Tech II and got live readings didn't cost a lot but was able to rule out so many of the things that could be causing it that I was able to pinpoint the problem by simple elimination
Yep that is the SWPS. Call Gene at www.gmpartshouse.com and order from him. It costs about $65.00 and takes about 2.5 to 3.0 hrs to change. I had to replace mine last year. I was afraid of the airbag so I had my mechanic buddy do it for me.
As stated by the others above, those codes indicate a problem with the steering wheel position sensor (SWPS). That would in turn cause the active handling to be turned off resulting in the light for traction control coming on. You may need to replace the SWPS but this could be a steering wheel not centered issue. When you are driving down a flat and straight road, is the steering wheel centered or is it off to one side? If the wheel is not centered I would start with a 4 wheel alignment and getting the wheel centered. Then clear all the codes you have and drive the car for a while to see if the problem is gone. If it returns then the sensor is likely bad and needs to be replaced. This is NOT the same as the "brake module" you mentioned in an earlier post above.
man you have been a great help..lots of good people on here,my car has a few mods done lately got the 2.5 prc heads ordered today cant wait to get those babies installed, the info given by you guys is first class
