Royal Purple has an excellent reputation on http://www.ls1tech.com. It's well known to reduce (often eliminating) oil consumption that's common with Mobil 1. I consider RP to be as good as Amsoil and Red Line. I use RP Racing 21 which is a 5w racing synthetic because I track the 5-6 times a year on road courses. Best prices are at http://www.oiltown.com.
Not even close! :smash: Go with the first & best Amsoil .
Look at the history of the three,It's a blow out,Amsoil spanks both. :yesnod:
Mobil can't catch Amsoil, what makes you think Royal Purple can? :cry

 "Non Bias" I was a retail customer before I started selling it, never looked back after I put it in all of my cars at RETAIL. Became a dealer, now it pays my car note. Go buy what you want, if ya want top of the line product you have only one choice. :smash:
It is a good lubricant; racing Miatas (great stresses) use it and like it. Of all the oils, I think Amsoil 2000 is by far the best for most uses. Most Corvette people have heard of RedLine and it is easier to get; however, I would put it in the same league with RP and just ahead of Mobil 1. :yesnod: :)
I use their oil and rear end oil. I will soon be adding their new ATF which is being made for manual trannys :yesnod: Amsoil and Redline (which I use to use) are very good also.
Go to all the web sites and check the technical data. Then decide what you want to use in your car. Make sure it meets specifications of your warranty requirements. That's what I did before selecting the oil to put into my Vette. Unfortunately, oil selection seems to be more of an emotional subject then a technical one.

excellent product..used to run it in our 92 and 94..lowered running temps 20 degrees, but could screw with your GM warranty...
Amsoil meets all GM specs :yesnod:
After helping WhitneyR install his FLP's I'm switching to Amsoil. We had his valve covers off to slip the headers in and let me tell you, his springs, rockers etc were as clean as a whistle. The heads looked brand new inside. There was no brown murky oil. The heads looked like they had just come off the shelf. I was blown away. I'll get some pics of what they looked like so ya'll can see. It was astonishing.

27k miles of mobil one and mine looks the same way. Detergent content is not the best way to choose a motor oil IMHO.
