Default General cam question on LSA

I've got an MS4 in my C5Z, and it is ground on a 111 LSA. I've seen other cams that are ground on a 110+2.

What's the difference between a 110+2 and say a 112 LSA?

I've always wondered this.

If it says 110+2 then the LSA is 110 and there are 2 degrees of advance in the grind. So if you were to install it dot-to-dot, you'd have 2 degrees of advance in it, instead of 0 like a regular cam.

^^^ Oh okay, so the "+2" has no real effect on the lobe separation, it would still be a 110, just advanced 2 degrees? What would be the benefit of advancing the cam 2 degrees?

Thanks

lobe seperation is ground into the cam and can not be changed. You can advance or retard the cam in relation to the piston.

advanced brings torque range in earlier

Most cams are ground with advance

Your cam card will tell you how to install the cam.

also does not an advance of 2* end the HP curve sooner?

I run a 112+2 Lots of torque early on, but HP ends right about 6400 vs up to 6750 red line
