HAS ANYONE INSTALLED A HARLAN SHIFT LIGHT IN A C5. I WANT TO INSTALL ONE IN THE CENTER VENT BUT AM NOT SURE HOW HARD IT WOULD BE. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED.
Harlan's shift lights rock. You can install it in the center vent. Contact neverenuf on here as he mounted a shiftlight just where you want yours and had pics. It only takes about 45 min to remove the dash.
I put an Autometer shiftlight in mine and the control unit in the glovebox. Mine is not really bright enough for me and I think Harlans are much brighter so that is a plus. Can you change when the light comes on (control unit) with the Harlan?
Yes, Harlan's is fully adjustable to any RPM however the "control box" is in the light housing. It comes right out so you'd better have your ideal shift point set so you don't have to take the dash out to change it. That's the only con of mounting Harlan's light in the dash vent. Harlan's lights are BRIGHT! You will not miss it :D
I'm :mad on Mathew Harlan( http://harlan.sketchy.net/store/store.html ). I payed him $50 September last year for a shiftlight. Nothing happened, January 8 this year I emailed him and asked what was going on. His reply was quoting "I will go back and check, I thought that it had been shipped out months ago". After that reply nothing happened. I sent a new email February 11 asking him to repay my $50 if he could not ship. Still no reply and he have not payed me back.
Now it's May 21, still no reply or money back.
I would say, watch out when doing business with him.
Matt is a great guy. I'm sure there's something simple going on. He's a moderator on LS1Tech.com. Post a message or contact him there on LS1Tech.com. Everyone always is done right by him. Go over there and see what you can establish!
