V1 rearview mirror mount
Anyone have their V1 mounted using the bracket that hangs from the rear view mirror? Pics of install, like it or not?

I saw one in a guy's '01 Z06 and really liked it but it was in it when he bought the car so he didn't know where to get one. Very discrete and the unit came on and off easily.

Careful, mirror mount does not mount to all C5 mirrors. I use the visor mount an think that the higher position is actually more discreet.

http://www.greatlakestrophies.com makes one that I use but I heard it only works for 2000 or older models so I guess that doesn't help you too much.

If you make your own visor mount by bending a piece of thin stock metal (a 1"X6"X50 mil. thick scrap from the Depot or Lowes), you can clear the tint. I did that and used the screw that holds the passenger visor as a mounting point.

Thanks, sounds like a good idea. It will be a whole lot less expensive than buying one anyway.
Did you have any problem regarding the rear view mirror. I have an '02 as well (Z06) and I have seen comments that the mirror configuration changed somewhat in either '00 or '01.

No interference. I just bent the piece of metal like a flat "s" or "z" so it would clear the tint and be far enough forward to not interfere with the passenger visor when it was down. I painted it black to match the surroundings. It stays put because one of the holes already in the metal stock had a hole in it that lined up with the little plastic tit on the visor hold down clamp.
