If you're going to run the T1 sway bars, what end links should you use? The car is a driver and cruiser that sees occasional auto-x and track events. Just looking to upgrade the bars to get the most out of the LG coil overs. Ive heard various things from running the factory Z06 end links, to using the T1 end links which are apparently quite noisy, to LG's "quiet endlinks".
Just for the "hell of it", I installed the heim-end sway bar links on my '01, shortly after I bought it, back in '01. Obviously, they are tough as nails, and would most likely stand up to the added load of a much thicker swaybar. In all honesty, I can't see where they added any noise to the car.
Depending on the end links they can be noisy as heck on the street and the clunking can drive you crazy. LG sells their quiet end links but they are pretty pricey for what they are.
Here is a link from the autocross and road racing page of the forum where the subject has been pretty much beaten to death. Post 11 has the setup I did to my car.
thanks for the post....an interesting read. my next question is, are the factory metal Z06 end links incapable of standing up to the added loads of the thicker sway bars? And how important is the adjustability of the end links? Obviously, on a full blown track car, more adjustability is better, but for a car that spends 75% of its life on the street and 25% on the track, is there any benefit to be gained from the thicker bars with non-adjustable end links? Realistically all Im looking for is a good sway bar to compliment the LG coil overs now that I've finally got those dialed in.
The T1 bar is a big bar, really reduces the oversteer from the "stock suspension" plank set-up.....been there...and what a squeaker.
Your coil overs are different world.......different geometry.
When does your car break loose now? and how much? Thats the sway bar question.
Do you have the Bilstein set-up?....those work great!
With those LGs and "stock" Z06 bars a C5 will have just a tad of oversteer (which can be corrected with a little bigger rear tire).....I think the T1s would be way too much....you'd have to really throttle it to correct.
the T1s with all sway bars must be mounted with NO load on them. In some cases the Z06 end links will not reach. so the Adjustable T1 Heim joints are needed.

Ive got the LG GT2s which are not the Bilstein set up. I do however run a slightly wider than stock tire in the rear (305/35/18 vs 295/35/18). If that is the case, Ill probably stick with what I have for now, or at least until I can get a few more laps in on the track with the current set up.

There are adjustable end links that are lined and quiet. Mine don't make any noise at all. I don't remember who makes them but give PFADT a call. I'm sure they have them.

Hey Kevin, did you feel like the sway bar reduced body roll at all over just the coil over alone?

Mine do not make noise either. Oh Oh wait.
Never mind. Old age and Straight pipes tend to drown out another sounds
