I had my car dynoed on 2 different days at the same dyno with the same set up. One had a correction factor at about 1.05 and the other day was below 1. The corrected numbers are much lower for the day where the correction factor was below 1. However, the uncorrected numbers and their graphs were pretty much identical for both times. I was told to look at the uncorrected for a more accurate comparison. Does this make since? Should I be comparing the uncorrected or corrected numbers? I just wanted to make sure that my car didn't lose a bunch of power or have some problem.
What was the extent of the differences? Both corrected and uncorrected hp and tq.
Welcome to the wonderful world of dynos. People often think that dyno numbers are the absolute confirmation of their money spent.
They are really just a general guide, and only as good as the operator. It is useless to say that my car has 5 more horspower than your car based on a dyno test, even if it's the same dyno -- never mind different dynos and different operators.
It all depends on the operator and his mood that day. But I guess you've found that out.
That's why I wouldn't put that much stock in splitting hairs on dyno numbers.
