Default gutting cats

Aloha gang,
What's the best way to gut the cats? I can get to the pup cats easy. The 2 big ones can't really get too. I might try to make a fordable poking rod. I have obx Shorty headers and no mufflers, cam etc. Want to get this done before my dynotune appt

WOW! Your doing all this work and making your cars exhaust smell relally bad for 5-6 HP (on a good day)

Save the time and energy and the cash for a set of headers with some high flow cats.

It will be well worth the wait.

I agree,, it will sound like *** and the interior drone will be UN REAL!

But,, HEY! Live and learn!

Lot of work for minimal HP gain, plus rotten egg smell.

It will sound like *** even with my 230/240 .630 113 lsa cam?

I will go with longtubes at the end of summer. Problem is, i just installed my cam kit, theres a 2 month waiting time for dyno unes out here. I got lucky and squeezed in a dynotune this sat. If not then i wait 2 months. I cant wait. Even with a 6 speed it will hardly drive on the street.
What if i gut the 2 pup cats and leave the big ones?

2 Month wait?
Where do you live?? Have you considered an INEXPENSIVE mail order tune until you can get a hands on in the shop tune?

That may be a cost vs gain option!!

Take your pick.... Several tuners offer mail order tunes for around $100-$150..
I recommend Corvettes Of Westchester.... Chuck will hook you up!. You will be very happy with his work, mail order or in the shop tuning!!! The Man gets it RIGHT!! PERIOD! I am estatic with his tuning!!

Thanks Bill, i live in hawaii and theres one really good lsx tuner. Theres a few import tuners. But they dont want to mess with lsx, they dont have the experience. Im affraid a mail order tune will leave me lean or what not, to much timing, part throttle, WOT drivability etc. i have ported tbody, MAf, big cam, intake, shorties etc, so im just going to get a good dyno tune sat, and get it tweeked later on. I cant even get any parts here and on the car by sat. Enough time to drop my mid exhaust, poke out the puP cats and tune it

Thinking of gutting my pup cats as well, car's a bit too quiet for my tastes! I wouldn't be looking for any gains from it, just a slight increase in decibels out of my Borla stingers. Good luck
