I just installed a T-body bypass and am now seeing a check engine light. Is this normal and just needs to be cleared?
I will admit that I pulled a boneheaded move and forgot to re-connect the sensor plug on the passenger side of the T-body the first time I started it, and of course the engine ran like garbage and set every light on the dash off, but it's running fine now.
Do I just need to head down to my local mechanic and get him to clear the codes out?

1. Possibly.
2. No.
3. Which DTC code(s) are you getting?
You can clear (and read) the codes yourself using the Driver Information Center (DIC):
Turn key to "on" but do not start.
clear any error messages displaying on the DIC
Press and hold the "OPTIONS" button.
Press the FUEL button 4 times.
The car should begin displaying any codes broken up by which module reported them (ECM, TCM, etc.).
Codes that have H after them are History, codes that have C are Current.
You can clear codes by holding the reset button. You can scan through the modules and clear out all the codes.
Write down the codes present and post the codes here to see what they mean.
In your case I'd expect the code to be in the ECM. If it only has H after it, I'd clear it and then start the car and see if it returns.

I don't understand your #2. Right now the only thing showing on the dash is the check engine light. Everything else stopped flashing, but it was showing just about every warning light on the dash and the digital readout including the traction control, before I cut it off and realized I'd forgotten to plug the sensor back in.

I would write down the codes present and do a search on the forum or google to see what the code means. If it only has H, I'd clear it and then start the car and see if it returns.
Ah, ok. This is new info for me, and explains the previous poster's #2 response. I'll go check that right now.

You asked two questions.
Post your code(s) when you get it/them. A clue will be the presence - or lack of - the letters "C" or "H" at the end of any codes. If the code is in the "PCM" section, it may explain your light. Again, it will be instructive if the code has a C or H suffix.
