A ported LS1/6 TB will improve throttle response some and maybe add a few HP (nothing to write home about)
The only TB that will improve performance is an LS2 but it wont fit a non modified LS1/6 manifold.
TPSI can morph on a LS2 flange to your LS1/6 manifold. You need mods and a tune to take advantage of the added air flow. It wont do a non modded LS1/6 much good.
I know their are some that will. I just have the question on the ls6 motor z06. They seem from what people THEY are the same. I thoght they were over 80mm.

Will ANY throttle body improve performance over the stock LS1?
My experience wit ha ported throttle body has been terrible.
Just changed yesterday to a BBK 80mm throttle body.
So far I am very satisfied, no error codes or check engine light. Much smoother idle.
However don't expect huge gains with ANY throttle body unless you are changing the intake manifold also. Even at that you may be looking at a small HP improvement.
Bottom line, I don't think the money spent on a new intake and throttle body is worth it; maybe if you are doing all of the work yourself you can consider with the addition of a CAI system and headers.

Save your money for a super charger!
I haven't had a customer yet that wasn't happy with their BBK TB. I just installed one of their TBs on my suburban and was very satisfied.
Our cars tend to get picky with too much air, once I went to a 90mm on my Z it went into limp mode and needed to be tuned. I think that is why BBK chose to limit the size to 80mm on the Vette.
