Good morning. I'm hoping someone may be able to help. The right side of my driver seat is not "locking" into place. Last week I turned in my seat as I was backing up (top was down) and the right side of my seat snapped back. Now it is not "locking" in place & is bouncy - if that makes sense. It happened once before & I fixed it but I don't remember how! I've reclined the seat all the way & moved it forward all the way - it is still not locking in place. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I believe that Forum member DeeGee posted a process to recalibrate the pawl on the notches for each side. IIRC you put the seat bottom all the way forward, then release the seat back so that the seat moves all the way forward, then back again and release the handle. Do a search for DeeGee and you will find the post. It was within the last week or so. Good Luck.
The "seat twisting" problem is different to the normal rocking seat fix
One side of the seat back seems to give way and won’t support your weight causing the seat to "twist".
It’s an easy procedure and worth trying before replacing cables.
Adjust the unoccupied seat to the fully forward position
Recline the seat to the fully rearward position and release the recliner handle to lock the seat back
Release the unoccupied seat to the fully upright position and release the recliner handle to lock the seat back. This will allow both the outboard and the inboard recliner mechanisms to release and resynch to the fully upright position
Check the seatback recliner mechanism for resynchronization by applying pressure with your hand to the headrest.
