Default Do I need a new clutch?

I've noticed over the past few weeks that my clutch is engaging with the pedal further and further from the floor. Is this something that just needs to be adjusted or is my clutch about to go? It will start to grab a little more that 1/2 way off the floor and fully engage 3/4 to almost all the way depressed.

I'm planning a 600 mile road trip in two weeks and want to take my car. If I can simply adjust the pedal thats great, but if my clutch is wearing out, I don't wanna take it.

There is also no slipping at this time.

Thanks in advance.

I believe its supposed to adjust itself as the springs on the plate push outward/inward(depends on point of view). If its not slipping, you could have a problem with the master or slave cylinders. How does the fluid look?

I push my clutch in about a third of the way and smooth shifting, no problems. When I push the clutch all the way down my shifting isn't so smooth because then timing is off. But I have learned first sight of your clutch going is when your in 6th gear, very low RPMs and you accelerate. This should show if your clutch is slipping. I also change my clutch fluid every other month.

I'm also changing the fluid tomorrow cause it's pretty dirty looking.

You accelerate in high gear from a low a RPM range. If your clutch is slipping it will show up under acceleration
