Default key fob not working

First off I want to thank anyone for helping me. My fob hasn't worked since I bought my 99 convertible 3 yrs ago. I have taken my fob to Chevy and they tested the signal and it worked. I have run the reprogram sequence multiple times. My tpm is transmitting my tire pressure, so its good. I have taken apart my fob and cleaned it and touched up the soder joints. I am lost on what to do......

Use the DIC and probe the DTCs.. Please POST all the DTCs that are listed.

Thats the first step

When you do the reprogram sequence on the DIC, does the display say "program fob #2" after you hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the fob?

Are you sure you have the right fob? When I got my '98 I didn't know any better and I got a fob from the dealer that wasn't even the right one for the car. When I told the dealer about this he just shrugged his shoulders and said "that's the one I got when the car came to me"

That's why I asked if he got the message about fob #2, to see if the car recognized the frequency of the fob, since the dealer "tested" the fob. Another way would be to post the number on the back of the fob so we can tell if it's the correct fob for the car.

When I run the program sequence it never responds at all, it just eventually times out. The fob info is: Gm; 10253839 model/fcc id: AB00216T

All the codes are as follows, keep in mind I clear them a few days ago:

40-BCM B0503 H
40-BCM B0508 H
99-HVAC U1160 H
A0-LDCM B2282 H
A0-LDCM B2284 H
A1-RDCM B2283 H
A1-RDCM B2285 H
A6-SCM NO COMM.
B0-RFA U1096 H
B0-RFA U1064 H
B0-RFA U1016 H

I haven't driven it in a week or two because I've been fixing it up so I don't know if some of these codes are from that?

That's the right fob. I'll defer to Bill Curlee or others on helping you with the communications codes with the RFA.

Try matching the FOBs first and then re-sync. Below is the owner's manual. Start at pg 2-11.

Did you read the original post? Or post #6 where he says the programming sequence doesn't work and sees no fob?

I was interpreting the programming as re-synching. Matching gets them to recognize each other, then you need to reprogram (re-synch) them.

When I say program or sync I mean, I did the the whole process of pushing the lock and unlock for 15+ seconds when I have displayed on the dash: hold lock and unlock

This matching is what I had to do when I bought new FOBs. Worked for me, then I resynched. My old FOBs would lose their matching and I would have to rematch/resynch and they would only hold it for a short time, even with new batteries, and I would have to do it all over again. Had the new FOBs over a year now with no more issues. Bill is the expert. May have to wait for his return.

Good Luck

You seem to have a weak battery. Some of those DTCs indicate that the module voltage is dropping low. Charge the battery and have it tested. MAKE SURE that it has a decent CCA and reserve capacity.

Corvettes DO NOT work well with a marginal battery!!! If the battery is bad,, replace it.

Clear all the DTCs and then see if they come back.

If the battery is good and you still get DTCs the output of the ignition switch could be suspect:

I followed the instructions on this forum and took apart my ignition switch and cleaned it up and sanded the contacts. And as far as the battery, I have been working on my car and have had various lights on without the car running. So i have had to charge it a few times
