Installed my Vararam yesterday. Yes, it sucked just like every post on here said it would.
On the bottom right side of the large flat plastic shield over the radiator there is a small "sensor" with two small wires. I didn't notice it and the wires broke coming out. What is it? I thought at first it was the outside temperature sensor but read in a search that is located up near the headlight. Any ideas?
That was my fear. Ironic thing is while I'll have the car "down" this week to install a Vararam and tune from ECS I sent my climate control unit in because it's very dim. Ugh!
It looks like the wires broke clean right next to the sensor. There's no wire protuding from the sensor to be able to "splice" into. Will this be a hard fix assuming I can find where the wire went? At first glance I don't see where it is.
You should be able to get a new pigtail and splice it onto the wires. The sensor is just a simple temperature sensitive resistor so the polarity doesn't matter. Check with a parts store or GM for the pigtail.
