Out of curiosity, do plan to pay somone to do it if it hasnt been done? Your talkin some serious money. The reason i ask is bc im almost certain your not going to be able to do it under GMPP anymore. I have an 01ZO6 too. I just live with it. If you dont track the car then it doesnt eat oil that bad. My car is getting up there in miles so it has gotten worse. It was to be expected. I have 1 year left to pay on her and the motor is coming out afterwards so it doesnt matter.
I tried calling our local dealer and they said they only have access to records for service at their own dealership.
I would call that dealer back and explain to the owner why you will not be purchasing a vehicle from them in the future.
When I bought my Corvette last year in another state, I brought it home and my local Chevy dealer pulled all of the service records for the car for me. No charge, no BS. Kathy Fowler in Lakeport, CA.
AFAIK, the dealer can only pull up warranty work (from any GM dealer). If it was re-ringed and it wasn't covered by warranty, it won't show.
Are you sure about that? I would think that they would scan the VIN anytime dealer work was done, warranty or not. I could be wrong, common sense doesn't necessarily play in the corporate model.
