Default 01 z06 clutch fluid gone

So I just bought a 01 z06 this morning, drove home an hour went to bed got up went to work and after work leaving **** got ****ed up evidently. Parked it and all my clutch fluid went to the ground.... Not sure what y'all think of this what it could be how to go about fixing it and if there's anything I can try to make the place I bought it from do considering I just bought the car less then 24 hours ago.

Either way this sucks I just got the car barely drove it and I can't drive it now. Texted the car lot guy I got the car from told him it's ****ed up, will call in the morning to see if they will fix it or take it back.

Looks like it may be coming from a line in there but no idea. The picture is god awful, my phone focuses on other **** then deep in there..

If its the master cylinder side it will be less invasive to fix than if the line is leaking on the slave side of the connection. Not sure about Nebraska but some states have lemon laws that allow you to return a car within so many hours (e.g. 72 hours) to cover things like this. You may want to investigate just in case you can't resolve this with the dealer. Also, if the dealer is just a used car lot, than they will not have the correct tools to even lift the car never mind replace the clutch components.

This is a crappy way to start your experience with this car, hopefully you can resolve it easily and without cost

It's a clutch line dealer had it towed to a Firestone lol but they're paying for it. Slave cylinder line but evidently slave needs to be replaced cause the lines permanently attached. $540 thank God i don't have to pay it.

Hopefully they will be able to fix it properly

That is a good price for all the work that is involved, for a little over $100. part.

Yea i can only hope it's done right.Should have it back friday tho so hopefully... I'll just be stuck with my 11' zx10r until then.

Without starting a new thread i got another question, below my key on the dash there's a square piece that's missing and a hole where it looks like something should be, can't take a pic until i get car back. Any idea wth it is and where i gotta go to get a replacement thingy.

You did nothing wrong for the slave to go out.
They eventually just wear out.
The sqare piece that you are missing is the air temp sensor, cover
It's this piece here.

Holy crap that's expensive! But I might just buy it anyways. Thanks!

Only reason I ask is because, some of you may not like this lol, I am learning how to drive a stick with my z06. Been 4 years since I drove one and only a few times when I did, like maybe 5 times. But they said the hose ruptured that is connected to the slave. Guess I got really lucky it did it immediately after buying the car then eh?

The line coming from the slave rupturing, just doesn't sound right.

Do you know if you have an after market remote clutch bleeder installed?
That was probably the culprit.

From your picture you posted up, it was quite blurry.

In regards to that air temp sensor cover try getting hold of...

No idea about the clutch bleeder. As far as I know everything on the car is stock lol. When I get the car back how would I go about looking to see if I do? They told me the rubber hose or whatever ruptured. Just not sure if it could of been something I did wrong or what.

Yea the picture sucked, it was dark and my phone decided to focus in on the wrong ****!

So does anybody have an idea what would cause the hose on the slave cylinder to bust like that? Could it just of been due to age or is there something else that went on there and I should replace/check? Could it of been my driving?

You keep asking if it is anything that you may have done to cause the failure of the slave line leaking.
The answer is still no.

As mentioned before, things wear out, which in most likelyhood is the case with yours.

You bought the car used.
You or anyone else here on the forum, know if or how parts were replaced prior to your purchase.

If the slave had been replaced in the past(more than likely has) & the slaves line was not reattached out of the way from hot parts, or
from rubbing a wear spot through the line against something.
To prevent any heat or premature rubbing/ wear, it's best to have a heat a sleeve on the hydraulic line/lines.

The disconnect from the clutch slave to clutch master cylinder could possibly became disconnected.

You didn't know if you have an aftermarket bleeder line.
Did you find out?
These sometimes leak.

Do you have headers?
Sometimes lines get up against hot pipes & melt/leak.
Heat sleeve over the line/lines will/would prevent melting/wearing.

Most times when slaves wear out & leak, they leak right at the slave unit itself.
The leak will show up dripping out of the bottom of the bell housings inspection plate "weep hole"

It would be wise for you to keep an eye on the parts for sale/wanted section, here on the forum.
The 3 book service manuals can be picked up for reasonable pricing.
There are volumes of information & diagrams in there.
