Hmm not sure why there would be a sudden change.. Mine always stay on for awhile and turn off on their own. Do they turn off at all?

On the LEFT side of the dash, there is the DASH DIMMER BUTTON. Make sure that the button is NOT twisted all the way ON as it will cause the lights to stay on.

If your dash lights are staying on, try inserting and removing the KEY in the ignition switch a bunch of times.

Check the door switch. Maybe it is bad or not making enough contact to close the circuit.

I had something like this happen. Disconnected the battery. The next morning I realized I had not fully closed the rear hatch when I pulled out the car cover. The same thing could happen if you have a bad switch on a door/hatch.
