Body panel gaps
Are body panel gaps on the C5 more consistent than earlier Corvettes ? I know one of the "charms" of the C3 was the body gaps. I know the hood has been off my car for some repairs and I'm trying to determine if it is fit on correctly. How much gap should there be between the front of the hood and the bumper cover ? Where do the points by the A pillar line up with the fenders ? Or was there variance from car/years ?

They are more consistent that the previous Corvettes but they are not exact. The points should line up with the top of the door but I have seen them from the factory slightly lower. This applies to all years.

I agree. Panel gaps in the C5 are alot better than previous years but nowhere near Lexus level. But, you need to keep in mind that the panels are a plastic/fiberglass composite material which does not have the same expansion/contraction properties as metal. So, it is normal to have some gaps slightly off. Having said that, the gaps on my car are pretty good. The hood gaps are pretty spot on.
