Default Extra muffler?

I have LT's, no cats, and Borla XR1 system. The car is a little too loud for me while cruising so I'm thinking about adding a 2nd muffler to the system to quiet it down a little and to reduce the drone. Should I add a second muffler or just swap out the muffler for one that's a little quieter?

I'm thinking about a 2.5" straight through muffler and just adding one to each side. Anyone have any suggestions at to brands? I just need it to drop a few db.
Thanks

I wouldn't try to add an extra muffler. Swap to a quieter one.

Agreed, You wont lose performance, and wont be adding weight by putting more mufflers on. These are going between 350 - 400 on craigslist nowdays.

I did it. I knew my Borla's were going to be too loud after H/C/I/E mods, so I added 3" Pypes round muffs after the X before the axle back.
Sounds excellent. I get a lot of compliments at the drag strip. And in general.

These were in process photos, but you get the idea.

I don't notice any drone on the highway. In fact, it is really quiet. Makes good sounds at full song though.

FWIW.....I tend to be a DIY exhaust system geek.......

Nice. Do you have any videos that I can listen to? I'm not worried about my WOT or just farting around town, it's the cruising at 75 that is getting annoying.

No, I'm sorry I don't. I haven't yet moved to the 21st century with such things as a cell phone or a video camera.

BTW, these muffs are stainless, polshed, stainless steel packing, and were just over $50 each. They make them in 2.5" in and out as well.
Magnaflow makes an X-pipe with muffs in it as well. You might look into that, although it is designed for stock manifolds and cats.

I wanted to keep my Stinger duals. I like the looks.
