i would say yes but have no way to measure. only the z06 had a larger mass air flow sensor. so my vote it there the same. but keep researching. check ebay it will give you years of the parts that will fit.

Really? How much bigger is the ZO6 MAF, compared to an LS1?

The air box from a 1998 will fit the 2002, but it's really not the correct factory air box for 2001-2004 C5's.
Starting in 2001, the air box cover had another air inlet opening in the cover. The ones from 1997- 2000 do not have that opening in the cover.

The 2002 ZO6 Airbox has more "vent" area than the regular 2001-2004 airboxes.
The 1998 airbox is VERY restrictive. I replaced my 1998 airbox lid with a 2002 ZO6 airbox lid. The filters are the same.

Ive read about 3mm larger in diameter, and no screen. Nothing to crazy.

You are correct about the screen, but I believe the MAF diameters are both the same.
I have a 2002 Z06 air box, and my LS1 MAF is still a very snug fit in the air box outlet connection.

Ya I have no way of knowing if the diameter difference is true. It seems to come up now and then. It may be a myth.
