I love my C1. From what i remember the C2 is a lot wilder. C1 specs are 222/222 .566/.566 112 LSA and the C2 specs are something like 234/234 .580/.580 112 LSA.........don't quote me the C2 specs as i'm going off memory which is pretty bad these days. :D
Ooops..No, I meant the C2 vs. C1 with stage II heads. Sorry for the confusion.
The C2 is very aggressive for a H/C engine and too aggressive for a stocker. You must have a fully upgraded valvetrain to run it reliably.
i am not doing the heads.... yet ;)
for now im going to go with the C1 or C2 Cam, Manley 221423 valve springs, Manley 23632 titanium retainers, MTI custom chromoly 1 piece pushrods, TPIS headers, and the Basanni XPipe.
The last time I discussed the C2 with stock heads combo with Jayson he said it was a longevity risk and something that he does not recommend. I would call MTI and get their opinion as I can't recall which valvetrain parts we discussed to go along with the C2 and stock heads and/or if they have found a way to make it last together without upgrade valves and guides.
There are a lot of people running a 224 Thunder cam on stock heads and the C2 is close to the same specs. It would be good to install it expecially if your looking to get a set of heads on a later date. Since you have the Z06 heads your already a step up form us ls1 headed guys. I seen in your post that your installing a better valve train so you wont have no problems running the cam. Im installing the C2 along with Manley 221423 valve springs, and Manley 23632 titanium retainers. You can get away with the CompCam 26918 valve springs but Jayson recomended the Manley because of the added seat pressure.

It will be as reliable as any other aggressive cam. With the Manley springs it should work for a good while. In the long run it depends on how hard the engine is used as to the lifespan of the springs etc.
It has been tested with great results in a stock head F-body that has made a lot of hard 1/4 mile passes(high 11's) and been driven for over 5000 miles...and he doesn't even have the Manley springs.
