Headers are getting Red Hot..

Headers are getting Red Hot..
I've cooked 2 sparkplug wires on my #4 & #7 cylinder .. I thought that maybe my CATS were clogged and that might be the reason for the excessively hot headers..But they are clean as a whistle.
Could this be caused by running too lean of a mixture ?? Any thoughts as to whats causing this ?? I am going to put a set of coolsox over my spark plug wires for a temporary fix.

Overly lean mixture will definitely cause the EGT to go up. Kool-Sox idea sounds like a good one. Might want to double check your A/F mixture pretty quick too. :)

I had planned on getting to a dyno next weekend to get my mixture printout..But looks like that will have to wait until i get my valvespring replaced.
