I'd like to get w new system on my 2002. I like the B&B systems.
The questions are--What kind to get? I don't want anything loud (sorry!). I do want it louder than stock. I would like to have that old 60's rumble. Something deep, thoathy at idle. I spend most of my time between 1000 and 1800 RPM. I'm rarely over 3000 RPM.
What about an X-pipe. Would Route 66 and an X-pipe get that sound? Would PRT's and an X-pipe do it? Or would it that be too loud?
Any help, or sound clips, would be appreciated! Thanks!!!
You will find it difficult if not impossible to get the traditional GM V8 rumble from the GEN III motor because of its design, and different firing order.
I'd say the closest you could get is to remove the cats, or go with high flow cats, headers, and x-pipe, and some straight through kind of exhaust like PRT's. But with the high flow stuff, will come loud accelleration.
Best thing to do is try to attend a corvette event and listen to different systems and ask for a ride with the ones you narrow down.
I thought that Corsa Indy's were supposed to be loud; not really their just throaty and agressive no rumble at high speed ie 65-100. just an athorititive note when you want it. but not the pickup with duals. ITS NOT TOO LOUD ITS JUST RIGHT!!!! :yesnod:
I just went through this...with the same quest... old muscle car sound, etc. I just got my Magnaflows and x-pipe yesterday (from LAPD along with a Donaldson), and I LOVE 'EM!!! Check them out. Great sound and not too loud.
