Default Muffler Removal

How high do you have to get the rear end off the ground to remove the mufflers on a C5, assuming the rear stabilizer is removed. On jack stands. looking at it I can get it up ~2ft, broke the bolts loose so that should not be a problem just don't want to start the removal if I need more height.

What I am going to is a Ti setup out of a Z06, looks like new so I need to get the 40"
By the way are the bolts standard 15 mm, when I pulled them I did not take them to Sears Hardware to match?

Re use the stock bolts & nuts.
You may need to buy new gaskets that go be tween the catback & H or X pipes. Gasket part # GM#10276792
Being you have a GM Ti system to install, there is no need to destroy the old system.
( I hate destroying perfectly good parts)
Take it out as single piece .

Bought gaskets at NAPA they crossed to an exact match
As far as taking them out as one piece I feel the same way, I'd rather give them to someone that cut them up.
Any idea about the 15 mm bolts?

The head of the bolt is 15mm (wrench size)
The bolt is 10 mm (diameter) x30mm (long) -1.5mm (thread pitch)

If your going to attempt to jack the back of the car up that high,, you are going to have to drive the front wheels up on some wood ramps first. If you dont,, the front spoiler will get smashed up on the floor way before you reach minimum muffler removal height!

Trust me! Been there!

Yeap, realize that, I will wait for the lift, then 15 mins later switched, bolts already pulled, lubed and re-torqued, so they will come right out, just clean flange and put the Ti exhaust in

What, I never heard that before, how did you do it drop the rear cradle?

i have a drive on ramp/lift that uses a floor jack to raise the rear portion after the car is driven on. 15" is a guess. it may be a couple more inches. When thre car was on the lift, it was level, not dipped down in front like raising only the rear end. i recall, it was very tight and thought about cutting. But i was able to remove the muffles without cutting.

Is that a Kwiklift?

Although having a lift doesn't help the OP, I am curious if a Kwiklift gets the car high enough to do mufflers?
