Default Help!

04 coupe sitting in garage-this morning the alarm goes off and I cannot shut it down without taking battery terminal off. It was not locked and windows were down. Hit the alarm button on fob-nothing started it up-still sounding. Let it sit and tried again with horn still blasting. Had plans to run it today but now this- Anyone have any ideas???

Wet or corroded BCM,, would do it.. Give that a look. Battery could lso be low. Check that.

Default horn

With all the noise,I didnt realize that the horn noise was constant- not pulsing like the alarm does.I massaged the horn button and when I hooked battery up again-all was good. brother in law has had gm cars have this happen when it gets colder and checking relay and horn button seems to get to the problem. This car is a Calif/Florida car and may never have been in <50 degree weather so maybe thats it. Seems ok now. Thanks Paul

If the horn is/was honking continuously, it may be your horn membrane-switch in the steering wheel is shorting to ground, causing the horn to blow.

Good news is, if it needs to be replaced, it is possible to do so now without replacing the entire airbag assembly etc.

ZIP Products sells the replacement membrane.

Trust me,,, the issue will return and when you least need it to happen! Thats the way Mr Murphy works!

Paul....I thought I put some info in the car about the where to purchase and the procedure on how to replace the horn membrane?

Did it to me twice over the almost 3 years I owned that beast.

The last time over a year ago.

Good Luck and are you still driving the wheels off that machine?

I am having severe sellers remorse

old age causes me to forget about paperwork! I do remember reading about it now.Supposed to be in the 30's tonight here- don't believe the car has ever been in the cold-we'll see if horn goes haywire again. Will try to rework this weekend- Driving it quite a bit. Still having remorse for selling after all this time? Maybe I should let you have it back!! Give me a call sometime Thanks
