I have a 2001 CPE with 6 sp manual and about 33k mile on it. General runs and looks great.
Yesterday I had a problem where as I was letting up on the clutch the engine just went to redline and stayed there. Thinking I might have been on the gas I went to back out of the garage and it did it again and it happened a 3rd time as well. Each time I could only get it to stop by turning off the key.
The 3rd time I am 100% positive that my right foot was on the break, the car was in neutral, and the clutch peddle was to the floor.
This happened once a few weeks ago and the clutch peddle did not return up. I though a problem with the release bearing or clutch and took to Chevy where they said no problem with the clutch at all. Now i am thinking there could be a problem with the ECU.
Car has SLP Blackwing intake and I did notice one vacuum hose not connected, this was on it when I bought the car.
Getting ready to take it in to the shop just wanted to get as much info as I could.

I had the pedal on one of my cars stick to the floor when the bottom of the pedal caught on the edge of a floor mat. Car was new. Quite the exciting experience. Might want to check that that full motion of the pedal itself isn't restricted. Kicking my pedal would make it break loose, but that wasn't really an option at the top of 3rd gear and on the redline. Roads tend to feel short at times like these!

Much more likely then a throttle problem with all the safeties in place.
Thank you, I will check it out. I do agree on the excitement factor. I have a club cruise next weekend and that I don't want to miss so I want to get it fixed this week.
