Finally ready to do headers, now I'm in a quandry trying to decide which ones to buy. From my reading it seems like TTS headers would help low-end torque, but are a difficult install. The Stainless Works headers seem nice, although I'm on the fence over coating them. For what the Stainless Works ones would cost + coating them I almost think the FLP system would be a better choice. I have a '99 with a Blackwing, Magnaflow X-pipe and Corsa Indy's - any suggestions or experiences with a similar setup?
Without starting a header war, we highly recommend the FLP kit. We are using these exclusively on our H/C and 427 pkgs. They are the best header we have seen, sold or installed to date. You will not regret purchasing FLPs, they offer alot for the money in our opinion.
Email or call us if we can help you further.
thanks for the reply Nate, one question I have is what kind of gains would I see using the FLP setup with my stock engine? I seem to remember some mention of losing low end torque with the 1 3/4 primaries over the 1 5/8 primaries of the TTS headers. Any experience of typical gains on mostly stock customer cars?
And no vendor wars please, I'm just looking for information :)
On the LS1, possibly 17-20 rwhp gain. We have seen more on the LS6s, up to 23 gain. You will not lose low end torque with 1 3/4 primaries. I have personally used and tested the TTS, TPIS and FLPs. I installed TTS over TPIS and felt a loss throughout the rpm range (my opinion only). We are installing two sets of the FLPs over the next two weeks. I will make sure both cars get dynoed for results.

Re: Which headers should I get? (TenaciousD)
HI,
Check out David Farmers recent win in the World Challenge series in his C5. He is using our LG Motorsports stainless Long Tubes, with our "merge" Collectors. All of the pros and cons have been discussed but headers should be a one time purchase, so having someone spend an extra hour to connect these headers to your existing "X" pipe should be no problem.
All of our new sets have a 3/8" header flange.
These can be purchased with or without the interchangable off road pipes and Cats. Your choice.

This system is the one Katech has chosen, and the one that we regularly get over 430+ rwhp and 420+ rwtq with our head, cam and header package. And the 304 aircraft stainless will not rust like coated headers do when the coating gets chipped.
Stainless is the way to go. We also sell the "stainless Works" headers, and we can get them coated for you if you want, although I think it is a waste.
Give me a call or email me direct at 972-272-7753 or Lou@LGMotorsports.com and I will work out a deal with you.
Thanks guys for the replies, my other concern that I perhaps should have mentioned is price, the labor is not a problem as I have about 12 hours labor time owed to me by a shop, but looking at $2k for headers is out of my range. The FLP system would be nice but once again, price, and from what I read for a stock LS1 high flow cats aren't really necessary. I'm really trying to get the following : good power gain, longevity (makes me lean toward the stainless) and good price. Keep the info coming!
