Default Headers

I have an 02 with corsa exhaust and blackwing intake. I want to make it roar even more so the neighbors can really hate me. Would headers be the best way to go about that?

Headers will make it a little louder but not a whole lot. I suggest a cutout.

Try unbolting your axle-back and running it for a day or two. Then if that's loud enough, you may look into a set of straight pipes. If not, you will probably want cat-less headers. Of course if emissions is a concern, don't do that.

Headers are a great way to improve the flow of the exhaust. Adding headers will add to the exhaust note and make the engine more responsive. It will give that extra "bark" your looking for!!

See Our Dyno Results

Stainless Works offers 1-3/4" or 1-7/8" primaries for either street or race applications. Our 1-3/4" design offers superior low end off idle response for quick launches, while the 1-7/8" offers the same benefits but drastically increases the mid to upper RPM torque and horsepower curve.

2001-2004 C5 Corvette headers with 3" center section with x pipe. Options include 1-7/8" or 1-3/4" primaries as well as your choice of high-flow catalytic converters or off-road pipes. Bolt on installation with no cutting and welding required. Manufactured from 304 Stainless Steel, the headers feature 3/8" thick, CNC laser cut flanges, and CNC mandrel bends and are fully tig welded with AIR tubes and Oxygen sensors installed.

Purchase headers for the performance benefit more than additional noise. REMEMBER,,, When you make it LOUD, you most always, purchase interior cabin DRONE. A well designed exhaust system will give you a nice roar but also control and or eliminate DRONE.

Follow "NukeC5" recommendation on unbolting the exhaust at the over the axel flanges to see what an open exhaust sounds like.

When I did it, I went to home depot, purchased some extra long flange bolts and put some spacers (large nuts) between the flanges and that left a nice gap for the NOISE to escape and the exhaust system is properly retained.
You will learn just what DRONE is and why you don’t want it.

Bad thing about an open C5 exhaust is,, it a crude guttural sound. Not a nice race sound.
