Default 99 wont turn over

I left my 99, C5 in the garage for about 3 weeks without starting. The drivers door was not closed completely. Now it's completely dead. The battery is new as of about 2 months ago. The car is situated in the garage as to where I can't jump it off from my other cars. I have a portable battery jumper (500 cranking amps), it lights up the dash but not enough juice to turn the engine over (just clicks). I have a battery charger that I hooked up but it causes clicking and flickering of dome lights like I've never seen before. Is this charger causing harm? Any thoughts?

Disconnect the battery, then charge it.

I thought you had the answer but when I disconnect the car from the battery, the terminal posts come out... leaving nothing to put the charger to.

Either purchase a LEAD Male post that secrws into your female side terminal OR, (like I do) find a bolt that you can scerw into the side post. (FINGER TIGHT ONLY)

Connect the charger to the male post adaptor or the bolt.

While you have the battery disconnected, clean the terminals and before you reconnect the battery completely, conduct a battery current draw test to make sure that something is not drawing too much battery current when the car is shut down.

Should be 25 millivolts or less in the sleep mode.

Found charging posts for side connecting terminal batteries. It's on the charger now, we'll see what happens. Terminals are very clean.

from experience.
I doubt your battery is toast. Mine came right back after a slow charge. I haven't had a problem since.

Thanks for everyones replies. I got charging posts for the battery, left it trickle charging last night, today it started and the amp gauge is looking good. Now I just have to unlock the radio...if I can remember my security code.
