I have a 2000 C5 and want to upgrade my brakes to the C6Z06.
Has anyone done this as I hear it was doable.
I know that I have to change my wheels for this upgrade.

Thoughts?
As long as your rims will clear them it's pretty much a direct swap. I'd uprgrade to stainless steel lines while you're at it. Lots of information on this forum about this upgrade...
thanks for the quick reply
am searching the forum now for this info
I haven't done it yet (It's on my list) but all you should need is:
Front and Rear Rotors
Front and Rear Calipers and Brackets
Pads
Lines
If you're going to buy new I think GM Parts House has a pretty decent price on a kit that has all of that (except I don't think it includes the lines).
You'll need at least 18" rims on the front and 19" rims on the rear but it's important to check for clearance on the specific rims you're going with.
thank you again for the quick reply very much appreciated
Thats what I am trying to find is the right wheels that will fit this setup, looking for nice concave wheels machined finished, as the car is yellow and a covertible this will look awesome I think.
I want to avoid using spacers if I can. Any wheels manufactures I should be looking at, am told to avoid offshore wheels due to the quality
Just finshed installed my LG Motorsports long tube headers 1 3/4", high flow cats, xpipe and corsa sport exhaust.

Just make sure when you do the lines you get them for a C5, not a C6 as the hard lines are different between the two cars.
But yes everything is a bolt on piece with the car, just make sure you have wheel room
Is there a wheel that work with the C6 Z06 Brakes on the C5?
there are quite a few... what's your budget for wheels? (don't forget you'll need new tires as the wheels must be larger in diameter than your stock wheels...)
I think you can pick up some TSW nurburgrings in that range. They look sweet and I'm pretty sure I've seen several C5's with c6Z brakes running them. Check with your wheel vendor to make sure.
I'd go at it the other way. Find a set of wheels that are at least 18" in diameter in the front that you like and ask the manufacturer if they'll clear C6Z brakes... I'm willing to bet most of the wheel vendors that sell on this forum could easily answer that question.

True on the AT LEAST 18" wheels on the front. 19" is not the minimum for the rear though. You may run 18" minimum on the rear with proper offset. My car has 18" all around, granted they are a custom set of 3 piece. Side note: Be extremely careful when removing wheels, as they are so close to the caliper that the slightest jerk of motion will bang the wheel into the caliper and possibly chip the powdercoat, or the wheel...
