I drive without my A/C belt on. I put it on once every couple months to run the A/C for a few days and lube the system.

You made me go look......most definitey a separate small belt for the air. I would just take a razor knife to it if I was you, young lady!

We need to be careful on direction provided!

Let's make sure the engine is not running if you choose to follow this advise. I have a graphic in my mind of fingers and blood being thrown out of the engine compartment.

A different approach would be to actually follow instruction on properly removing the belt which can be re-used after the repair.

Yes, save the belt. The system uses tensioners! Easy to remove both and put the main drive belt back on.

She didn't sound stupid enough to stick her hand down in there with it running, and the belt is probably at least 8 years old.

Might be a good time to change out the other one, too, however.

LOL you guys are freaking awesome!! I was giggeling reading all this! Yea i wont go under the engine and try and touch anything while its running ... blonde, but not natural and my iq is a little higher than the average chick when it comes to cars! nonetheless, you guys are great!

i dont really want to cut the belt if i can help it. it actually still looks in great condition and i cant really see the damn a/c belt ... crap! LOL

i got a few offers of help so im gonna let the the experts look at it and show this amateur what it needs.
