Hey guys, I just recently purchased my very first corvette, an 01 Z06. So far I love the car, and hopefully it isn't my last vette as I have been a corvette fan ever since I can remember.
Anyway, the only thing that kind of bugs me is that the car runs really rough in the cold weather. The car idles fine, it starts at above 1k when I start the car and drops down to 900ish when it warms up, so I do not think it is not a computer problem.
It starts becoming noticeable below 70 degrees and gets worse and worse the colder it gets. There is also a pretty noticeable hissing sound during acceleration that, again, gets louder and louder the cooler it gets.
I am thinking maybe it is the coolent temp sensor? I hope it isn't a vacuum leak haha.
spray some carb cleaner on your vaccuum hoses to see if theres a change . I had the same problem on a toyota matrix it turned out to be the intake manifold gasket
I'll definitely check that out tomorrow. I guess a vacuum leak would make sense since rubber expands when it is warm. I appreciate the responses by the way.
Besides a short throw shifter the car is bone stock.
