I've gotta get to the Christmas stuff in the attic. I'm gonna put the car together this weekend, minus a CV, crank it up, roll it into the driveway and clean up the garage and get down the Christmas stuff. Wife's orders.
Success. Car is put back together...minus a CV and muffler...LOL.
Christmas stuff is outta the attic. The car doesn't really wanna push itself on one CV
Gonna roll it back in, slap on the muffler and wait for Monday. Hopefully DSS will have the flanges ready. I'm gonna go ahead and detail the inside of the car...its dirty from sitting for so long.
If DSS is unable to get me my part this week...I'll be getting a stock seal and slapping my good, stock CV in. I'm driving my Z06 for Christmas.
DSS called yesterday...inner flanges still aren't done.
But! Good news! The tech that I have been dealing with still didn't think it was the inner flange. He went back and measured up the CV I sent in to them a month ago and said that every now and again the CVs will be produced a little bit longer than they are supposed to be. In my case, the CV shaft is .25 long overall. He said thats probably what is causing all the issues and is sending me out two new CV shafts. Said they'd be to me around Thursday.
Got the passenger side completed. Which, for those following along, was the side I couldn't get to go.
I've gotta pull apart the driver side now and redo it.
The new set of CVs are way shorter than the originals. Total BS. But I very much appreciate DSS correcting the issue. Its just amazing that a snapped axle has taken about 3 months to fix.
