The stereo in our '01 GMC Sierra needs attention. It appears to be a very similar unit to what's in our '04 C5. When we first bought it the lights behind the #3/#6 presets didn't work which wasn't a big deal but now when you push the "on" button there's no pressure (like a spring behind it broke or something) and it's not turning on. The local shops don't repair OEM radios but will be glad to sell me a new unit (or aftermarket which we don't want).
I had my dim climate control issue fixed on the C5 by someone from the forum but don't think I saved his information and can't find him via a search. Does he do them if I removed and if not, does anyone know of a reputable GM OEM stereo person?
Called them and said $65 to fix the "on" button as well as the backlighting issue. Seems very reasonable so I'm going to mail it to them this weekend. I'll try to follow-up on their service.
