Re: Opinions of Hypertech PowerProgrammer III (Corvette Poor)
Has anyone experienced spark knock at higher RPM's using the standard Hypertech power tuning ? I just installed it and did the standard on mine and can hear a slight detonation when it gets up around 5700-6100 RPM's
My 98 had a slight detonation problem when I first programmed it but it cleared up after driving it about 50 miles of careful driving. It hasn't knocked at all since then. I also installed NGK TR55 plugs about the same time and the car idles MUCH better now.
Re: Opinions of Hypertech PowerProgrammer III (J-C-5)
For my needs right now and the immediate future, th HPIII makes sense. I don't have any radical programming changes and as one person posted, it will flash a 3.42 gear change on a 98. But when I do get the supercharger, injectors, and possibly a cam, I definitely will have to go with custom programming. A trip to Chicago will be in order. They have the closest tuner. Wish I was closer to AZ and Xtreme. :yesnod:

C5 Pilot,
How was the Deeds movie set? Were all those red Vettes in the movie as well? Did you meet any of the actors? That's an awesome sight with all the cars there! Very cool.
Re: Opinions of Hypertech PowerProgrammer III (ronnie948)
What's all this talk about shift firmness 75% option, does it let you set the percentage of firmness with the C5 version of HPP III, because with the HPP III on my '95 C4 the 'increase shift firmness' option is either "on" or "off", no option to select any varying degree of firmness...

The options are 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% shift firness settings. I have seen postings from knowledgable Forum members that the Hypertech 100% setting is about 15% increase in line pressure over the stock 100%. Perhaps someone else can chime in. 75% works great IMHO.
