Thought I would share some teaser shots of my new brake setup from Dilusi Motorsports. It is a Stage 3 kit with drilled rotors, red hats, zinc washed. I also had them do a custom Porsche red powder coat on the calipers for me.
Ben at Dilusi is great to deal with and both he and Dilusi are a class act. Anyone considering a big brake upgrade should give Ben a call. He made himself available to me whenever I needed questions answered and even went as far as giving me his home phone # in case I needed to reach him after hours.
I am planning on doing the install later this week and will post some more pics once they are on the car.
Thanks for the compliments guys. I can't wait to get them on the car.
rschiltz: I didn't get a chance to take any shots of the interior yet. I wanted to wait until I installed the aluminum bezels and the door handles. I should have pics up by the weekend.
I am hoping it performs as good as it looks. I have been used to having the braking power of a 993 Twin Turbo, so with the Vette, I was hoping to reproduce a similar system.
I'll give you guys some feedback once I have done some high speed stops and see if it is comparable. :-)
Those won't fit under the stock wheels... Will they? If not what wheels are you going with?
Jerry
Well, I must have asked Ben that question about 5 times. He assured me that they will fit under my stock wheels. I ask Darth Vetter the same question and he told me they would also.
I am looking at putting on some aftermarket wheels, but I havent decided which ones yet, so I haven't moved on it.
I had the same reaction you did. Looking at the rotors and calipers in person they look huge. I am still skeptical, but will wait until I do the install.
Ben just emailed me today and said my pads were delayed so I wont be able to get them on this weekend. I guess I'll have to postpone until next week.
I'll take alot of pics during the install so everyone can see them.
I can tell you mine would definately not fit behind the stock wheels and they look very similar to your brakes. With my aftermarket 18" rims the brake calipers clears by approximately 2mm.
It does not take long to swap a front caliper so I would leave your brake line connected to your old caliper and just mount the new one to see if it fits.
