Hey guys, I have a 98 C-5 Conv with 34K on the clock. The other night it just quit running. I waited about thirty minutes and it started up, ran great for about a mile and the electrical stuff just cut off again. Yep 30 more min and it did the same thing then quit. It is sitting at home now. Still cant find anything. The code at the shop was DTC 1024 loss of communication with TCS. but like I said now its working fine. Im kinda scared to take it out. Dont trust it. The only thing that has given me a problem is the fuel gage acts up on occasion but it resets itself after I restart the car and the drivers seat control is worn out but I hardly ever use it. Im 6'6" so the seat is all the way back. It works but not well. Would that cause the car to just shut off? Ideas would be helpful. Thank You...Great forum...Rick
OK i will do it this week..Im away from home this week..Gotta make $$$ to have funds to fix it haha.. Seriously, thank you for the assistance.
Update.. They found the heater motor in my car not working and locked up. Would an overheated relay cause the car to cut off. I know the heater motor was working the night the car quit but it was making a slight noise.

That doesn't mean that's the only one that you have. When you get back I suggest that you pull the codes your self. It's not difficult. Follow the steps in the video above.
In fact what would be best is if the problem occurs, pull the codes BEFORE you turn off the ignition. Some codes go away as soon as you turn off the ignition switch.
I saw the video and copied the notes on the procedure. I will do it. I really appreciate the advise.. I hope to get back today...
Hi guys..Well it sure had a fried heater hvac motor and module for sure. The codes all come back history and there are many..Here it goes.

As for the heater motor it was smoking and when it came out of the car the armiture was close to being locked up. I replaced both the fan motor and module. Car running good, so far... like I said everything has a H in front of it...
I would have to suspect P1276. That's related to Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) which in turn is communicating with the TAC (Throttle Actuator Control). TAC problems can result in the engine shutting down.
Next time you have the problem, pull the codes BEFORE you turn the key off. I'll wager there are other codes that are set.
In the meantime, clear all the codes that are currently set. Video talks to how to do that.
The other codes that you have set are primarily related to a battery issue. If the cables were not tight, that could have caused the other codes. In fact it MAY be responsible for the P1276.....
All codes errased, car starts, runs, everything working at the moment. Im taking it out today for a longer test ride. I drove it 5 miles or so last night up to the store. Seems OK...
