Well guys I got all my parts today and I called up the guy that's going to tune my car and he told me to send the FAST injectors back. He said they have had terrible luck with them in the past and the information on them isn't readily given up by FAST so they can tune the car perfect.
He told me to go with Ford racing injectors.
Its a 2001 6 speed ls1 and I have a TSP MS4 cam, TSP 227cc heads, lunetti lifters, FAST 90 intake, 90mm gm performance throttle body, cold air intake, OBX longtube headers, SLP back from the headers, comp trunion kit, and 100shot of nitrous.
I was told i should be around 460-480 RWHP on all motor by TSP
Anyway talking to the tuner he recommended me to buy Ford motorsports 39lb injectors, I can run 42lb green tops but there hard to find.....and a 255 fuel pump because ill be close to the max hp a factory pump can take....
Would that be a good setup?... I was thinking about getting the racetronics 255 kit with the plug and play harness.
As far as the injectors go would 39lb's be ok or would it be better to buy the 42lb green giants. I know the green giants and green tops aren't the same but I know there similar.
When you switch injectors, there are a LOT of parameters in the injector table that can be adjusted. You tuner is correct in that if he doesnt have the injector data, he has to guess on the data and it will effect the way your engine runs or at least the effeciency of your engine.
I have approx the same HP you have and I have the 42 Green tops. They work fine.
He is 100% correct, the only data from FAST is IFR. There is a lot more to it than IFR. Offset vs volt, min pulsewidth, default pulse, short pulse adder.
Get something you know there is data for somewhere out there.
Yes I have it narrowed down to the 39 for motosports injectors. The green tops and the green giants. I would just like to know the difference between the green tops and the giants. Do I need the ev adapters? Ls1's are ev1 right
