Coil Question
From my readings it appears that the C5 computer controls traction via a combination of systems, one being the coils. It can apparently shut off the spark temporarily to a given coil as it decreases torque.
That being said......after changing plugs I noticed a misfire. I tracked it to a "dead" coil. Put new wires, no change. Swapped out the "bad" coil for a "good" coil and found it was not the coil at all.
My question to you all is this:
With the car sitting at idle what are the chances that the computer has shut off the juice to this particular coil? As in a malfunction in the TCS? Can that happen? Or is a cracked wire in the loom more likely?

You may be able to see the signal on the AC Scale but, it will be a low voltage reading.
When I get home tonight, I will post the schematics for the all the coils.
You also need to check the voltage and low reff to the fuel injectors.
Bill, PM me if you have time and don't mind me picking your brain.
As far as spark is concerned---It does not shut power off to the coils --it simply removes timing from your ignition system---
However there is a time when ALL the coils "could" be shut down---When decelerating the DFCO system kicks in ( decel fuel cut-off) Not quite sure but i think that here the spark is powered off as well----Anyone else know for sure ?????
