Just installed the CLB in my 2002 vert this morning. (Thanks to 97 Vette, the instructions were great  ) When I put in the key and turned it, I got the dreaded "Pull Key - Wait 10 seconds" message on the DIC. I did that and then received no further errors. Did anyone else run into this? Is this going to plague me now as long as I have the CLB installed?
First time I turned the key to the "on" position. Key was NOT in ignition during the installation process per the instructions. Wondering if the column lock was found in a unexpected position (from the new module) and the BLM faulted as a result. Second attempt worked OK as did subsequent attempts. Just concerned because a number of people have reported that this error will stay with the CLB installed.
I think I found it in the Service Manual:
"Disconnecting or opening the steering column lock feedback circuit will cause the BCM to enter a Fail Enable Standby Mode. The steering column will remain inoperative until the Fail Enable Standby Mode is cleared. To clear this mode, disconnect the BCM1 & IPC fuse in the IP fuse block for 15 seconds."
Re: CLB Installation Problem - 02 Vert (vettenuts)
I got the "Pull Key - Wait 10 seconds" message on the first start after the
CLB install as well. Only once and have not seen again for more than a year.
Re: CLB Installation Problem - 02 Vert (vettenuts)
Nope, no reset......nada. Just drove it. In my experience (6+ installs), some
do it and some don't. About 50/50. Only happened on the first start up.
I would not worry about it.
