That's why I like my machined cutouts... dumps the exhaust onto the ground...

I also have darkmercury's cutouts (actually only on 1 side) and the sound is excellent.

When the exhaust weld failed on mine, I drove it to the dealership. Wow. I got looks from like 6 miles away! It was LOUD! Really, really frickin' LOUD.
And it resonated like a madman.
How did you guys do the cutout? That might be worth investigating, though.... :D

A happy medium are Cut-outs (Credit to DarkMercury! :cheers: )
They make my Vette sound like a Freakin Race Car, the downside is
resonance. I will gladly take the resonance to see the faces :eek: of the

I'm with the pro-muffler crowd. Why make a ton of noise, attract cops and deal with resonace at cruise when you can have the same hp and fool people into thinking you're stock. No cats, well I'd miss my low end torque. No headers??...you're an idiot.
If you can read, which it doesnt appear that you can, I have TPIS long tube headers. :rolleyes:

?? Phil, I'm not even sure why you think I was talking to you...I wasn't. Do you get called "idiot" so often that you always assume that word is directed to you? I was referring to SR-71's comment that some people run open headers (as in no headers) which I think is a pointless...kinda meathead thing to do. I've got nothing against long tube headers. I'll probably get some next year.

It sounded like an old pickup truck with rusted out mufflers! Yes, it sounded AWFUL!!!!!!!

You want LOUD, get SLP Loud Mouth. I just got em and they are LOUD. I am working on putting dampening material under all my carpeting in the coming weeks.
also make sure the exhaust pipe isn't touching ANYWHERE :) That will cause REALLY bad vibration.
Just because it doesn't touch when your in neutral doesn't mean it doesn't touch under torque, so make sure there is good spacing. Mine was fine in neutral but under torque i think it's hitting. Still diagnosing that!
