P0113C Code

2001 Z06
Just finished reassembly after installing VMAX Ported TB and removing the screen from my MAF.
Car runs great, though.

Is this code a problem that needs attention?
You need to check your actual IAT temperature--any scanner will show you the actual IAT temp in real time--Check to see if it is way off--IE: if its 80* outside and it reads
140* it would mean the IAT is reading incorectly--
YES it can be an issue---IF the ECM thinks the IAT is extremely hot it will remove timing from the engine--making it lazy--Vice versa if it reads cold then it may add timing and the eng will ping---
Also not in your case but on an A4 a high IAT sensor reading can put the auto trans into a "limp" mode
Removing the screen in a no no--Unless you have your own software to correct the HZ table---takes hours and hours of data logging to get the MAF table correct after removing the screen--and for what ?? maybe 2 RWHP ??? not worth all the headaches--
A stock MAF screen and all is able to handle 500 crank HP--about 450 RWHP

Note that after 30 minutes or so of driving, the car exhibited neither of the symptoms you mentioned. Could this be an indication that the ECM does not think the IAT is too hot?
When you say scanner, are you referring to an OBD reader?
Thanks for the input.
As far as screen removal--Yes after 25 to 50 miles of normal driving the ECM will atempt to "learn out" the fuel trims and make corrections to the fuel for the leaness/richness from taking the screen out
But the ECM can only do so much--If the corrections are apprx 20% or more you should get a code--and unless the MAF table is tuned--the fuel will never be correct
As far as what the IAT is doing you are only guessing unless you find out what the actual temp the ECM is seeing-- with either a code reader/scanner---a tuner -- or a shop with a Tech II

They should be close to zero/slightly negative. If they are HIGH, you need to get the PCM tuned to correct for that MAF Screen being gone. The PCm can correct up to 25% +/-. The more POSITIVE the LTFTs are it will make your Wide Open Throttle Power Enrichment (PE) AFRs very rich. RICH PE AFRs= less power!!

Do you know anyone with EFI Live or HP Tuners? Or even a predator hand held tuner. They can data log for you.
