Default Project underway.

Just got done doing a little painting, installing bbk shortys and a little bit of chrome. Trying to go more for the old school look as it is an old school motor in a new..er school car. Tell me what you guys think.

I'm halfway done swapping out my rusty flowmasters for a real setup.. hopefully I'll be test driving her tomorrow before noon.

Looking at the drivers side... I can hear it begging for the chrome alternator

Now I know people talk s*** about the OBX exhaust but I have to say its the nicest looking set up I've seen.. the tips are just amazing and its light as can be.. I mean light. Welds are great and I mean damn the tips look good. Very few exhausts with a roll in that deep and pronounced. Borla has the nerve to charge $1000 and u can see the black nasty pipe being crudely covered by their tips. Giving a double ring appearance at the tips... insulting kind of.

I have read in threads from years ago that one side of tips always ended up being slightly lower than the other and it required $100 or less at an exhaust shop to fix..... SO WORTH IT. But this is their newest design so that flaw might have been taken care of.. we'll see..

Old school motor? If my ls is old school then my lt1 must be a dinosaur. Is there a new motor that is not based on the ls design? I guess I need to catch up.

what is everyone pissed because I said something bad about borla??.. I did have their products on my last car and was very happy.. just callin it like I see it.

Just got everything done and started her up.. there was some smoke, I had a mini heart attack and then realized the pass side header was touchin the heat sleeve on the metal ac line causing it to smoke so I just bent it.

Exhaust sounds amazing, defintely idling smoother and any exhaust leaks that I had before are definitely gone, motor sounds like a swiss watch now.

The OBX note is very deep and it has a strong idle but its not too loud. Even though the mufflers are very small compared to other companies, it would seem as though they kept the non obnoxious sound and shaved a bunch of weight so that great.

Does appear that something just isn't quite right with the alignment of the tips. Its barely noticeable but I will be taking it to the local muffler shop for a slight tweak.. as I said before.. totally worth it, looks really great. Really does sound so much better than the flowmasters, which sounded great.
